Approach

We would rather be useful than impressive.

CatAce is a consulting company for ecommerce. How an engagement runs depends on the business, but the way we approach it does not change much.

The shape of it

Noise in. Something you can act on out.

Most businesses we meet are not short of numbers, opinions or possible next steps. They are short of agreement on which few of them matter this quarter. Getting to that, and then seeing it through, is the work.

How we tend to work
01

Close to the work

We stay close enough to hold the whole picture of a business rather than one corner of it. That is the difference between advice that sounds right and advice that survives.

02

Start with what is real

Engagements open with an unglamorous stretch of looking at how things actually run. Where the friction sits, and which decisions have been deferred longer than anyone likes to admit.

03

Fewer, better changes

It is rarely a shortage of ideas that holds a business back. More often it is having too many at once. Three things done properly beat twelve done partially.

04

Stay until it holds

Advice nobody acts on has no value. We stay through the part where a change stops being a plan and starts being how the business works. Then we get out of the way.

05

Working together

A one time piece of work or an ongoing arrangement, whichever suits. Everything runs through your client area, alongside whatever we have assigned to you and your billing history.
